Riverview Psychiatric Center (RPC) seeks a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join our staff. This is a Monday through Friday position providing care to patients in a state run, inpatient facility. The hired candidate will have a panel of 10 to 12 patients. This position is an interesting mix of inpatient work including psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and team interaction, and is fully supported by a multidisciplinary treatment team, including medical care. Teaching opportunities are available across allied fields and numerous educational opportunities including with leading experts are also available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current license to practice medicine in the State of Maine and National Board Certification in Psychiatry.
Must have experience as a hospital psychiatrist and experience in treating individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and co-morbid substance abuse disorders.
Riverview Psychiatric Center, in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Currently RPC is in a state of change. Hospital leaders are working hard to improve our facility. To maintain the changes and improvements already in place, as well as implement those to come, we need providers who work well with a team and are willing to face challenges head on.
Location: The hospital is located on the Kennebec River in Augusta, Maine. Augusta is Maine’s capital city located one hour north of Portland, an award-winning city with excellent cultural opportunities and two and a half hours north of Boston. With a new state of the art high school, world class cancer care center, and the exciting redevelopment of the riverfront and downtown, Augusta is a wonderful place to live and work.
