The Director of Business Development is tasked with leading the development, management, and execution of the sales force for the company. This role is responsible for promoting company services to new and existing referral sources in a defined territory. This individual will be a major contributor to company branding and public image development and will act as a primary point of contact for key relationships. Day-to-day responsibilities will require travel to local provider offices; calling on providers and office staff to distribute brand messaging and promote the benefits of referring to our company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identifies and presents brand messaging to existing and potential professional referral sources located within assigned territory.
- Meets or exceeds monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for referrals of patients to the company.
- Provides feedback concerning the company’s marketing, branding and performance based on referral source feedback.
- Represents the company at trade shows and/or exhibitions, as needed.
- Assists with creating marketing campaigns and provides feedback on marketing materials, advertising, and promotional activities, as to the effectiveness and receptivity from referral sources by tracking ROI when relevant.
- Collaborates with the marketing team to create, order, and manage marketing inventory including educational materials and promotional items for each of the Company’s brands.
- Sets up educational/informational meetings with referring physician offices; to include physicians, physician extenders and their office staff.
- Develops and maintains database to track activities and results.
- Works with internal staff to gain a comfortable working knowledge of the various conditions we treat, and therapeutic treatments we offer.
- Researches and provides feedback on significant activities in the marketplace including competitors, new developments in the marketplace.
- Maintains elevated level of selling/marketing skills through continual training and professional development.
- Networks with internal and external sources to continuously improve operational knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Develops marketing geographies into effective territories.
- Analyzes and recommends recent sales targets including potential referral sources, new markets, etc.
- Develops, implements, and executes strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer/patient base.
- Develops, maintains, and presents weekly and monthly summary sales reports.
- Manages sales budget and ROI analysis.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the services and procedures offered by the Company.
- Assists in the development of new office locations and marketing analysis.
- Effectively develops and promotes an environment of continuous pursuit of excellence.
- Trains, develops, and supervises the physician liaison team.
- Plans, monitors and appraises job results of physician liaisons.
- Checks work e-mail regularly throughout the workday.
- Participates in and completes all required training and in-services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years’ sales/marketing experience WITH a minimum of three (3) years’ management and/or training experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
- Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of healthcare outside sales experience.
- Five (5) years of management/training experience.
- Prior experience working with a customer relations management (CRM) system.
Driving/Travel:
The employee must have reliable transportation. Travel for this position will be required up to 100%. While the primary workplace may be closest to the employee’s home, work assignments could be in any of the Company’s locations.
