Job Title: Director, Partnership Sales - Gaming, Creator, and Esports
Team and Job Overview
SPORTFIVE is seeking a highly motivated seller to add to our US-based gaming, creator, and esports division. The Director, Partnership Sales has the primary responsibility for revenue generation by creating sales opportunities, developing partnership proposals, and supporting the broader team in achieving the successful sales of esports and gaming products and services, including digital media, custom content, content creator activation, and in-game sponsorships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead and manage sales pitch process, including proposal development, pitch presentations, negotiation of terms, and contract completion.
- Conduct smart, proactive, strategic outreach to potential brand clients and their key stakeholders, with a great deal of focus on prospecting media agencies and media buyers within brands.
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospects by using macro and micro market trends, sound product knowledge, and deep understanding of brand marketing to strategically identify relevant clients.
- Monitor all relevant media and trade journals to identify new esports business sector opportunities.
- Manage RFIs/RFPs – working with internal business leaders to ensure deadlines met and best work product is presented.
- Work with internal stakeholders to support thought leadership for and promotion of SPORTFIVE gaming business unit growth.
- Work closely with S5 HQ Germany to develop key value propositions, product opportunities, sales materials, and data/insight analytics, to ensure sales propositions are robust and compelling.
- Liaise with SPORTFIVE international territories and subsidiary agencies where necessary to work collaboratively on relevant projects.
- Work with internal CRM team to manage reporting.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of gaming and esports-specific or relevant property and/or agency experience, across digital media and entertainment.
- Ideal candidate would have experience with digital media-centric partnership sales and possess a strong understanding of rightsholder development and management.
- This role requires an aggressive approach to sales, with extensive knowledge of the media landscape, in addition to a basic understanding of gaming and esports.
- Must maintain a proven track record of generating revenue with consistent, positive results.
- Background in clients and agency leads that buy MCN pre-roll on YouTube a plus.
- Possess a working knowledge of media and content development.
- Domestic and some international travel may be required for this role.
- Must have strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Deadline driven, organized, and able to multi-task.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and sales CRM.
Compensation
Salary Range: $110,000-120,000
SPORTFIVE is providing the compensation range it might pay for this position. The rate of pay offered will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
