Role Overview:
As a Managing Director, you will serve as the senior leader of the US and India Shared Services Center’s digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) team. The role is responsible for leading the DFIR team with a focus on driving growth through key insurance carrier and law firm relationships, providing daily leadership and management along with working with other practice area leads to drive revenue growth and service expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and managing a global incident response and cyber investigations practice
- Create a practice leadership style that aligns with our corporate and practice culture and values
- Driving practice-level revenue through new client relationships with a primary focus in major cyber insurance carriers and law firms (data breach coaches and higher-end investigative firms)
- Utilize professional and personal network to identify new opportunities
- Participate in externally facing events (conferences, webinars, etc.) representing Ankura and the Practice to increase market awareness
- Work collaboratively with others in the practice and elsewhere in the firm on various initiatives
- Provide strategic insights to leadership teams regarding market trends, service offerings, and staffing changes
- Providing industry thought leadership to the DFIR organization
- Actively lead, manage, and provide executive-level oversight on projects
- Provide input into client communications, both written and oral, related to analyses performed for senior level review
- Lead, scope and participate in security incident investigations that involve computer crimes and require log, forensic, and malware analysis
- Collect and analyze intrusion detection system alerts, firewall logs, network traffic logs, and host system logs to evaluate whether unauthorized access or information ex-filtration occurred
- Perform forensic analyses to identify the presence of any malware, malware capabilities/actions, and what actions the malware took
- Conduct security investigations in Linux and/or Windows environments
- Provide input into client communications, both written and oral, related to analyses performed for senior-level review
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Cyber Security/MSIS or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience working in the Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) space
- Proven revenue generation in consulting and/or professional services with significant client engagement experience
- Prior experience working with cyber insurance carriers and law firms (data breach coaches and higher-end investigative firms)
- Hands-on experience in conducting incident response
- Understanding of how to communicate effectively and concisely with legal counsel, high-level management, and C-suite clients
- Experience working on projects in an investigatory capacity – either law enforcement or incident response
- Experience working with non-Windows programs (such as Linux, Unix, Mac)
- Scripting/programming experience (specifically Python, C#, VBA, or Shell)
