The Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, seeks a qualified General/Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a part-time position (0.5 FTE ) in an open rank, non-tenure position. Duties include on-site anesthesia services to adult and pediatric patients at University Hospital; intraoperative and didactic teaching of residents; participation in Faculty Development programs; work collaboratively with the members of the surgical services both clinically and administratively; participation in research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically.
Qualified applicants must:
- Have a medical doctorate or equivalent
- Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey,
- Be a BC/BE Anesthesiologist. Candidates on J-1 VISA are welcome to apply.
The effective day of the appointment is September 1st, 2024.

Overview
Full-time faculty position for Attending General Anesthesiologist involving patient care, resident and student didactics, and research functions.
All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.
Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
