Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD) is an innovative medical device company dedicated to simplifying life for people with diabetes and other conditions through its Omnipod product platform. The Omnipod Insulin Management System provides a unique alternative to traditional insulin delivery methods. With its simple, wearable design, the disposable and waterproof Pod provides up to three days of non-stop insulin delivery, without the need to see or handle a needle. Insulet’s latest innovation, the Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System, is a tubeless automated insulin delivery system, that’s integrated with a continuous glucose monitor to manage blood sugar with no multiple daily injections, zero finger sticks, and is fully controlled by a compatible personal smartphone.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President, Product, Omnipod 5 Franchise, the Director, Product Management will be responsible for developing and commercializing new products and line extensions. The successful leader will have experience leading teams, leading end-to-end product management for global products, with the ability to translate business goals into high-impact product initiatives. Informed by deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics in the market, and technology constraints and opportunities, he/she/they will develop and lead the execution of a roadmap that positions Insulet for sustained market leadership. This leader will play an important role in the Omnipod 5 Franchise, working in partnership with the other Product Management and Product Marketing leaders.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities globally
- Lead a team of Product Managers through data-driven processes to test feasibility and viability and translate learnings into business cases informed by clear roadmaps and global platform execution plans
- Develop and articulate a clear vision for products and lead execution of the integrated roadmap to deliver franchise goals, globally with a strong focus on balancing US and international needs for an established product.
- Own full product lifecycle, guiding trade-offs and release plans for new features, launches in new global markets, in-market sustaining activities, and technical debt retirement, partnering closely with engineering and sustaining teams.
- Define integrated release targets & scope, value proposition & delivery to drive growth, provide customers with cadence of new innovations, and maximize return on investment
- Responsible for on-market product performance, including market share, retention, product complaints, NPS, cost to sustain, and product cost
- Build and deliver business cases
- Lead execution and release of product initiatives with technology teams, medical, regulatory, manufacturing and other teams across Insulet to lead on-budget, on-time cross-functional execution to realize value and advance Insulet’s mission
- Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers to shape integrated launch strategy for global products
- Set targets, objectives & reviews with all PMs within the Franchise
- Manage and develop team of world class Product Managers and Product Owners
- Collaborate with other product managers to establish processes and best practices for Product Management and Product Owners at Insulet
- Coordinate on architecture and scalability requirements and guide investment timing
- Create bottom-up planning for annual & strategic plans
- Coordinate medical & scientific input & review
- Collaborate on franchise roadmap and priorities in relation to enterprise-wide strategies

Education And Experience
- 12+ yrs experience in a Product Manager leadership position and 10+ yrs as a senior-level product manager; matrix leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with medical device product management, with deep knowledge of regulatory & quality requirements globally
- Experience developing and commercializing connected products/line extensions
- Experience leading end-to-end product management
- Experience building world class product management teams
- Diabetes experience or knowledge a plus
Additional Information
- The position can be remote, hybrid or in-person at our Acton, MA headquarters. The preferred location is near San Diego, CA or Acton, MA.
- Travel is estimated at 25% but will flex depending on business need.
NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired).
Compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,360.00 - $268,775.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
