Job DescriptionFacilitates and manages ongoing Behavioral & Mental Health (BMH) nursing department operations, including quality, service, fiscal, and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive BMH patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience- 3 years of clinical nursing experience
- 2 years of experience in management/administration
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in nursing, business, management, leadership, or related field
- Relevant board certification (i.e. PMH-BC, NE-BC, etc.)
- Experience in management in a healthcare setting
- Experience in pediatric nursing
- Experience in psychiatric nursing
Education- Bachelor of Science in nursing
Certification Summary- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire.
- Marcus Crisis Prevention Program Tier 5 training within 90 days of employment

Job Responsibilities Clinical Behaviors- Demonstrates competencies that incorporate age-specific guidelines, including N = Neonate (less than 30 days), I = Infant (30 days to 1 year), EC = Early Childhood (1-5 years), LC = Late Childhood (5-13 years), A = Adolescent (13-17 years), AD = Adult, ALL = all ages.
- Maintains understanding of clinical pathophysiology as relates to improving competency and care.
- Maintains understanding of psychopharmacology and its impact on children and adolescents.
- Acts as clinical resource for BMH patient population in all areas of hospital, including emergency department and inpatient areas.
- Maintains ability to assist with clinical care, including ability to act as Code BERT lead.

- Maintains 24/7 responsibility of BMH RN & BMH Tech team across 3 hospital campuses.

- Coaches staff to improve performance.
- Understands My PATH program and educates Assistant Nurse Managers and staff.

- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission.
- Leads department in creation of staffing effectiveness monitors.
- Oversees follow-up to occurrence notification system reports.

- Allocates resources to work toward care standardization and performance improvement in accordance with evidence-based practice.
