Valley-wide Health Systems, Inc. is looking to fill several Family Physician roles at our clinics located in the San Luis Valley (Monte Vista), Upper and Lower Arkansas Valley (La Junta) as well as Canon City, CO. The ideal candidate will be positive minded with a passion for serving those in the rural communities we serve. The Family Physician, while working closely within a diverse patient population, will build strong relationships within the community, delivering personalized medical care in an integrated healthcare environment. The Family Physician will play a crucial role in providing primary healthcare services to those in underserved areas, across the lifespan from pediatric to geriatric.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Perform physical examinations, record and document physical findings within the EMR System (NextGen), and review data along with health history to formulate a definitive diagnosis based on the patient’s condition.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient’s clinical problems and healthcare needs.
Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Review and evaluate treatments to determine success.
Collaborate with the integrated healthcare team to determine a comprehensive patient healthcare plan.
Refer patients to other healthcare practitioners for consultations or specialized health resources for treatment as appropriate.
Educate patients and their families on treatment or healthcare needs.
Assist in the oversight of support personnel with clinical guidance.
Perform other duties assigned by the employer that are commensurate with professional services normally and customarily performed by a physician.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be board certified/eligible MD/DO with experience working in a clinical setting.
Current unencumbered State of Colorado Licensure.
Current unrestricted DEA License.
Successfully complete a background check and drug testing.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) desirable but not required.
