Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Commercial Aviation Strategic Advisors to provide expert-level advisory services to U.S. Air Mobility Command (AMC) and U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). The advisors will play a critical role in aligning commercial aviation operations with the National Defense Strategy (NDS), AMC Vision, and Department of Defense (DOD) policy, ensuring the continued success of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) program and other key commercial airlift initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on the alignment of the commercial airlift program with DOD, NDS, and AMC priorities.
Collaborate with the commercial aviation industry, academic professionals, and the DOD to evaluate risks, assess industry trends, and propose policy and operational improvements.
Deliver regular reports, risk assessments, and briefings on the state of commercial airlift operations, including cybersecurity, economic, and geopolitical risk factors.
Conduct outreach and consultation with aviation industry leaders and organizations such as IATA, ICAO, DOT, and FAA to inform and support future operational strategies.
Assist in evaluating and forecasting future developments in the aviation sector and their impact on DOD commercial airlift capacity.
Provide ongoing program support, process improvements, and implementation of strategic recommendations.
Travel to various locations to conduct interviews, attend conferences, and engage with industry partners as required.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience in commercial aviation, defense policy, and air mobility operations.
Strong knowledge of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) program, commercial airlift operations, and DOD requirements.
Ability to analyze complex geopolitical, economic, and cybersecurity risks that impact commercial airlift operations.
Experience providing strategic advice and preparing briefings for senior military and government leaders.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies and the commercial aviation industry.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting complex information to high-level audiences.
Willingness to travel regularly, including 1-2 day trips each month and additional travel during the first year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with USTRANSCOM, AMC, or other DOD transportation-related organizations.
Security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday

Travel Requirements: Up to 10 trips per year, including trips to the National Capital Region and other locations.

Clearance: DOD Top Secret Clearance required.
