Accounting Manager plans and directs all accounting, banking, and tax activities for the organization with guidance from the President, by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinates:

Preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes.
Oversee all company spending and develop strategies for efficiency improvements, such as holding monthly budget meetings.
Manage and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and/or payroll.
Implement the company’s system of accounting policies and procedures and a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Manage all aspects of AR/AP function.
Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records and review for accuracy.
Prepare reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, assets, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, sales tax, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.
Arrange the monthly cost of sales figures by analyzing material and labor.
Assist in the monthly and year-end physical inventory process.
Effectively and properly handle confidential information.
Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls. Oversee the review or independent auditing or review by outside independent accounting authority.
Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.
Coordinate preparation of external financial reporting.
Review financial statements for every segment of the organization with management personnel ensuring accountability for the day-to-day operation of each area.
Confer frequently with outside CPA firm to solve accounting problems in an expeditious manner.
Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers using Sage 50 accounting database. Provide financial status reports to the President.
Assure that customers have timely, clear, and accurate invoicing, and reconcile customers’ accounts.

Requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
MBA or CPA is a plus.
5+ years of direct experience as an accountant
3+ years of supervisory/management experience in manufacturing or industrial field (automotive preferred) to include increasingly responsible assignments.
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Proficient computer skills with MS Excel, accounting software, and databases
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to direct and supervise.
