Essential Duties

Responsible for establishing the strategic direction and execution of all aspects of technology to promote efficiency, innovation, compliance, and sustainability in congruence with the organization’s strategic goals. This includes IT infrastructure stability, IT Security, Cyber Security, and disaster recovery as well as leading and supporting the development and implementation of enterprise solutions throughout the credit union.
Oversee the planning, implementation, management, and direction of all technology initiatives in support of solutions to meet key business objectives.
Work with the credit union leadership to develop a long-term technology roadmap, oversee the development of enterprise standards and technology architecture, technology evaluation practices, cybersecurity planning, and the IT governance process.
Oversee the management and direction of all information security controls, create and manage an information security culture through rigorous evaluation, messaging, and proactive programming related to education and testing. Responsible for ensuring information security practices and standards that meet or exceed industry and regulatory requirements.
Lead, coach, and develop the IT team. Drive the performance of the team by providing regular feedback and conducting check-ins and annual performance evaluations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and performance standards. Motivate and inspire team members to achieve excellence in their roles, fostering a culture of excellent service, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Responsible for interviews and the selection process when there is a vacancy on the team. Through effective leadership and management practices, drive individual and collective success to meet department and organizational strategic goals.

Education and Skills Experience

At least ten years similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills: Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
Other Skills: Thorough knowledge of hardware systems, system software, networks, and application software development.
Previous financial institution and USERS software experience preferred.
Must have excellent resource management, project planning, and communication skills.
Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
