The Life & Legacy program aims to integrate endowment building and legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of Jewish organizations, ensuring their long-term sustainability.

HGF is seeking a dynamic Life & Legacy Community Consultant to join our growing team supporting multiple foundation initiatives. This full-time position will be a remote position with travel and will report to the National Director, Life & Legacy.

Position Overview

The Legacy Community Consultant will train and mentor communities to integrate endowment building and legacy giving into their philanthropic practices. This role involves dynamic presentations, relationship management, strategic guidance, and grant administration to ensure the success of the Life & Legacy program. Travel to communities throughout North America is required.

Responsibilities:

Implement and Sustain the Life & Legacy Program
1. Program Implementation: Engage with community leaders virtually and in person to bring the Life & Legacy 4-year curriculum and Life & Legacy Plus program to life. Tailor your approach to fit the unique needs of each community, ensuring that legacy giving becomes a core component of their philanthropic practices.
2. Goal Achievement: Act as a coach and mentor to help communities reach key milestones, from securing after-lifetime commitments to executing effective marketing and stewardship plans. Monitor progress closely, offering constructive feedback and guidance to drive success.
3. Presentations and Training: Develop and deliver engaging, impactful presentations that communicate the Life & Legacy curriculum effectively. Empower communities with the knowledge and tools they need to implement legacy giving strategies.
4. Q&A and Support: Serve as a reliable resource during trainings and one-on-one meetings, providing clear, practical guidance to address questions and challenges.
5. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with staff at partner organizations, ensuring ongoing support and successful implementation of legacy giving initiatives.
Feedback Integration: Collaborate with partner communities to gather insights and feedback, using this information to refine and enhance the Life & Legacy curriculum, program offerings, and resources.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Life & Legacy team to continuously improve and expand program offerings, ensuring that the initiative remains innovative and responsive to the needs of participating communities.
Participate in the grant application process by reviewing applications, budgets, and reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with the program's goals, maintaining the financial integrity of the Life & Legacy program.
Conference Content Creation
1. Create specific content for the annual Life & Legacy Leadership Conference, with a focus on delivering valuable insights and training for both professionals and lay leaders. Oversee related responsibilities to ensure a smooth and impactful conference experience.
Integrate Life & Legacy into HGF Programs
1. Contribute to efforts to weave Life & Legacy resources and curriculum into other Harold Grinspoon Foundation initiatives, such as PJ Library and JCamp180, broadening the reach and impact of legacy giving across multiple programs.

Requirements

Dynamic Presentation Skills: Engaging and inspiring diverse audiences through strong presentation and interpersonal abilities.
Jewish Community Insight: Experience with various Jewish communal organizations, understanding their unique needs.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel twice monthly to different communities.
Facilitation and Coaching: Skilled in facilitating discussions, mentoring, and motivating executive-level professionals.
Planned Giving Knowledge: Preferred experience in planned giving, endowments, and community organizing.
Fundraising Expertise: Proven ability to support fundraising efforts and secure necessary funds.
Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments, maintaining effectiveness amid change.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for promoting philanthropic initiatives within the Jewish community and possess the skills necessary to effectively guide organizations in endowment building and legacy giving practices.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, concentrating, and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to travel for work twice per month, including air travel.

Location

This position is a remote position with travel expectations.

Compensation

A competitive salary ranging from $95,000 - $110,000 annually.
