GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The primary focus of this position is to oversee the Finance department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective internal controls. This role involves being a hands-on manager while managing a small team, preparing budgets and forecasts, and acting as a project manager for process improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company’s products and services and understand the corporate goals, strategies and profitability objectives.
Manage the Finance team and the team’s functions including accounts receivable and payable, collections, payroll, financial reporting and analysis, reconciliation of accounts and preparation of monthly financial statements.
Develop the Finance team, create and improve processes, and support cross-functional efficiencies.
Prepare budgets and forecasts by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending plans.
Act as project manager on major projects, such as new system implementations.
Manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
High level of initiative, project management and process improvement skills.
