Description

Conor Commercial Real Estate has an opening for a Project Accountant to provide accurate real estate accounting services for internal and external clients. The Project Accountant will report to the company’s Controller and will assist in all phases of accounting including, but not limited to, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, general ledger, and accounts payable. This is an in-office position based in the company’s headquarters located in Rosemont, IL.

Responsibilities:

Maintain General Ledger ensuring proper classification and recording of financial transactions
Prepare and review financial statements and all monthly reports for various joint venture and development projects
Perform operational analysis including budget to actual comparisons
Assist with acquisitions and dispositions entries for various assets
Review accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations
Execute month-end and year-end closure processes including in depth analysis
Prepare bank account reconciliations, fixed asset, and depreciation schedules
Oversee and ensure compliance with Development Management, Loan and Joint Venture Agreements
Prepare capital calls and construction loan draws
Process invoices including coding, support examination, data entry and check preparation
Prepare 1099 forms at year end
Collaborate with joint venture owners, development teams and general contractor regarding billing and funding of projects
Assist Controller with activities and requirements of external auditors

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and minimum 3 years’ related experience. CPA preferred
Real Estate and/or Construction industry experience preferred
Intermediate Excel skills required
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
Sage, Timberline, or other Project Management/Accounting software experience a plus
Full time/In office position
