Lead Captain

The Lead Captain will report directly to the Director of Operations. The Lead Captain will assist with management of daily operations of the Charles River and Boston Harbor Division of vessels to include vessel upkeep, safety standards, and quality control as well as carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies, to ensure the highest level of customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Captain Charles River & Boston Harbor Division vessels on Public and Private events
Ensure safety and security of vessels and facility
Follow and promote operational policies and guidelines
Work with Charles River & Boston Harbor Fleet Managers to ensure vessel upkeep
Assist Charles River & Boston Harbor Fleet Managers with training seasonal crew
Review daily project list and immediately address outstanding maintenance alerts with Operations Team to quickly resolve issues or alerts
Enforce USCG regulations and ensure all vessels are in compliance with current COI
Ensure crew is operating in compliance with regulations
Respond to Unusual Occurrences, document, and report to upper management
Assist with vessel maintenance and upkeep in the off season, including boatyard work, paint, varnish, carpentry, plumbing, etc.
Additional job duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
Minimum 100 Ton USCG Inland or Near Coastal
Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
Distinctive problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities
A self-starter, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with some experience managing a team
Efficient team player, with the ability to also work independently in a fast-paced, fluid environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Will be required to be available for work on weekends, nights, and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
