Job Summary:
The City of Bellmead is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Finance Director to join our team and play a critical role in managing the city's fiscal operations. Under the general direction of the Assistant City Manager/CFO, you will assist in overseeing key areas such as accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and more. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of the city's finance department operations, including utility billing, municipal court administration, risk management, and purchasing.
Act as department lead in the absence of the Assistant City Manager/CFO.
Develop and implement finance-related policies, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial data, monitor the city's budget, and manage asset acquisitions.
Lead the preparation of annual audits and financial reports in compliance with US GAAP.
Support in the coordination of the city's operating and capital budgets.
Serve as a representative of the city in community and professional settings.
Provide leadership and direction to Finance Department staff and ensure efficient operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of two years' experience in a professional or governmental accounting role.
Knowledge of accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and financial management systems.
Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Officer (CGFO) preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within two years of hire.
