Our clients are landscapers, roofers, web designers, doctors - busy small business owners who we appreciate dearly. Appletree provides a monthly subscription for bookkeeping, business taxes, and personal taxes where we serve clients year round. We're looking for a great Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team for 30-40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

Working with more senior staff, you’ll handle much of the day-to-day operations for our clients (transaction entry, invoicing, bill payments, payroll preparation, journal entries, reconciliations, etc.)
Your daily tasks will be cleanly organized in Canopy, our practice management system, a critical tool that will set you up for success managing work across multiple clients
While you won’t be responsible for managing client relationships, you’ll interact with clients from time to time, answering specific questions or politely seeking certain information
As you work, you’ll always stop to ask questions of your team when you aren’t exactly sure what needs to be done - whether inside a client’s books or another client system
Supporting year end close, entering depreciation schedules, and entering information to help prepare tax returns (you don't need to know tax or do the return)

Qualifications

+1 year experience in Quickbooks Online
Tech savvy - able to navigate Zoom, Slack, etc and learn new software quickly
Ability to manage deadlines across multiple clients with an awareness of what needs to be prioritized
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members across digital channels and an innate desire to build relationships
Humility and openness to coaching and critiques; always seeking to improve
Persistence and an ability to stay on track
Bookkeeping skills, general knowledge of payroll and accounting principles

Compensation

Starting at $21 per hour during the training period, then as you ramp up you can make $25-40/hour on our production pay model.
